Pensacola fishing charters

Pensacola is one of the best places in the country to catch a variety of species year-round. Whether you are fishing from the beach, a pier or a boat, there is always something to catch in the beautiful waters surrounding the city.

What is the best time of year to fish in Pensacola?

The Spring offers anglers excellent opportunities to find Redfish, Spotted seatrouts, and Flounder on the shallow grass flats and in the bays. In the Pass, Sheepshead and Mangrove Snapper can be found hanging out around dock and bridge pilings.

June marks the start of Red Snapper season in federal and state waters. This means that many boats will be headed out to the reefs to capitalize on this pensacola beach fishing charter. This will typically leave the inshore waters a bit more vacant, which is good news for inshore anglers who will be finding Redfish and Speckled Trout on the flats.

In the Fall, Redfish move into the bays and shallows to spawn, which gives anglers a chance to target them in the passes with live bait. The Flounder bite should really start to heat up as well and anglers will be looking for an Inshore Slam (a Redfish, a Trout, and a Flounder) during this time.

The Flounder season closes in December, but it is possible to find them in the bays and bayside areas of the city. Johnson Beach is a popular spot to target them for the last few months of the year.
